Our Wines

Three cuvées in AOC Margaux & AOC Haut-Médoc, recognized by leading wine critics since 1999.

Nestled between 2 Grands Crus Classés, Château Mille Roses is a family estate in southern Médoc, managed under organic agriculture since 2010. Sophie and David Faure produce three cuvées in AOC Margaux and AOC Haut-Médoc, on nearly ten hectares of Garonne gravel.

A family estate in excellent company!

Located in the heart of southern Médoc, between the grands crus classés Château Cantemerle and Château Giscours, the Château Mille Roses vineyard rests on Garonne gravel—soils of rounded pebbles and sand inherited from the retreat of Quaternary glaciers. Well-drained and living, they give the wines their natural freshness and aromatic precision. A few hundred meters away, on the Arsac plateau, two parcels produce our Margaux, on deep gravel over yellow clay, typical of the appellation's finest terroirs.

Our story...

The story of Château Mille Roses is quite emblematic of this new generation of Médoc winemakers who have taken over a family heritage to transform it into a recognized artisanal estate.

Sophie and David Faure created the estate and the name in 1999 in Macau, in southern Médoc, between the renowned properties of Château Giscours and Château Cantemerle. David Faure had inherited the buildings and a small vineyard base after the premature death of his parents. In the first year, Mille Roses consisted of only half a hectare of Merlot and half a hectare of Cabernet Sauvignon!

The name "Mille Roses" is a tribute to David's mother, who was passionate about flowers and roses. It also evokes the style of wine sought by the couple: aromatic, elegant, and refined wines.
David, trained in viticulture and oenology at the school in Beaune, Burgundy, handled the technical and commercial development of the estate, while Sophie took charge of all administrative and financial management. Together, they gradually expanded the operation to reach approximately 10 hectares distributed between the Haut-Médoc and Margaux appellations.

Their philosophy is very much focused on respecting the terroir and a non-interventionist approach. In 2010, they committed the estate to complete organic conversion, abandoning herbicides and chemical pesticides. This decision was motivated as much by environmental conviction as by the desire to pass on a healthy estate to their three children, Jean, Marie, and Suzanne.

Over the years, the estate has built a genuine reputation among enthusiasts of "artisanal" and organic Bordeaux, with cuvées regularly noted by the international specialized press...

The small château, very typical of Médoc, its gardens and its main buildings and outbuildings dedicated to wine, have been entirely renovated by Sophie and David over the years. Due to its small size and elegance, many people could see themselves living there!

Their story remains that of a small family estate that has become a discreet reference in southern Médoc through patient progression, extensive manual work, and a very personal identity.

The Mille Roses team

Behind every bottle, there are faces. Sophie handles administrative management and estate operations. David manages the vineyard and cellar, from pruning to blending, and oversees sales. Alongside them, Manu manages mechanical work, vineyard and property maintenance, and seasonal workers join the team throughout the year during the most intensive work periods. Not to mention Jean, Marie, and Suzanne, the three children, faithful to the harvest every year, or to order preparation.
